audibledotcom I’ve been feeling a bit restless these past few days. It must be the weather since everything else seems to be fine with me; God knows :)

Anyway - two months or so ago I joined Audible and I must say - what a great service. I am not much of a book reader. I read everything from Sidney Sheldon, some Harry Potter books, and a lot of programming/technical books like: PHP and MySQL, Learning Perl, Stylin’ with CSS, etc. - you get the point. Nonetheless, I love books but I simply have no time to read, and when I do most put me to sleep.

Audible came into rescue with Audio Books! I tried them long time ago, they’ve been around for like 10 years or so, and I did not like it. I decided to try them out again and this time it was a success. I especially love getting the books which are read by the author; it just puts everything in a different perspective.

Give it a try: http://audible.com/twit <– going with this link you get one Free book of your choice (thanks to Twit.tv and Leo Laprote). Audible has a great subscription plan - for $14.95 a month you get 1 free Gold Credit every month to purchase any book out there regardless of it’s price. They have some that are $7 bucks and some that are over $40 USD. Which ever you choose with 1 gold credit a month - you get! The Gold Credits are like your AT&T minutes - they roll over so you do not necessarily have to buy a book every single month.

My practice is to get the books that are over $14.95 with my Gold Credits, and buy the ones that are less than that price.

For starters, here are some recommendations which I’ve enjoyed:

I am America (And so can you!)
- written and read by Stephen Colbert

The Lexus and the Olive Tree: Understanding Globalization
- written and read by Thomas L. Friedman

The Chopin Manuscript (Get your free chapter here)
- written by a dozen of the best Thriller authors
- narrated by: Alfred Molina (who does a great job!)

Getting Things Done: The art of Stress-Free Productivity
- written and read by: David Allen

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man
- written by John Perkins

Hope you find what you like :)
