Willie "Pete" Williams served 22 years for a crime he did not commit. What world we live in? He’s now 45 … "According to the Innocence Project, only 45 percent of those exonerated by DNA evidence have been financially compensated. He expects some compensation from Georgia, although the state has no law guiding such cases." - In my opinion he should be getting no less that 1 million for stupid people screwing up his life! He spent the best years of his life in prison - even 1M is too little to ask.
[He] had no idea when he was pulled over by police that the criminal justice system was about to steal away half his life.
Willie "Pete" Williams, 45, spent half of his life behind bars for a 1985 rape he did not commit.

Sitting in the flashing glow of Atlanta squad car lights along Georgia State Road 400, the 23-year-old part-time house painter didn’t know police were looking for a rapist who had struck nearby three weeks earlier.
Police questioned — and then arrested Williams, triggering a series of mistaken witness identifications that led to his unjust conviction for rape, kidnapping and aggravated sodomy.
It was 1985 and Williams was sentenced to serve 45 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. "I felt betrayed. … I felt like these people had taken my life for something I didn’t do. I felt like I was being treated unfairly. … I felt very, very angry towards everybody," said Williams last week, a free man after nearly 22 years behind bars.

So far, DNA evidence has directly exonerated 208 wrongly convicted people in the United States, according to the Innocence Project. It’s unknown how many prisoners now locked up in American jails could be freed by new testing of DNA evidence.

The binoculars I got, about which I wrote in the post below, are just awesome. The night finally came in and we were able to check out the moon, stars, and ocassional airplane passing by.
Image is great! I can’t wait to get a tripod since this 10 pounder gets a bit heavy after a while.
The moon looks AWESOME! You can see the craters with it and there is just so much more detail than ever before. Simply amazing. To give you an idea of how big it looks, here is a mock-up shot:
If you get your eye to about one-two inches from the screen and look at this picture - That is how close it looks like while watching it live! Super detailed and SUPER SUPER bright! This picture above does not do it justice, you’d think it’s the sun you’re looking at how bright and nice it is
So there you go. If you want to look at a moon, get Zhumell 25×100 Astronomical Binoculars (and a Tripod).
Where to buy? Well here: www.binoculars.com
They are $250 bucks but a lot less than even a cheap telescope!

I love airplanes and I simply cannot wait to get a chance to fly on the new Airbus A380. Just look at it’s wings - it almost resembles a beautiful bird
The commercial flights have started with the first Singapore Airlines flight from Singapore to Sydney completed today!

Too busy working today. Issues with PHP and unserialize() function. For some odd reason it is not returning my serialized array back the way it’s suppose to. I tried everything but no help, and it’s just a regular array… O well, I’ll store data in XML format then - it’s better in the long run anyway. Here’s a message for PHP on how to commit suicide:

This video is so funny to me, not for what girl can do but the screams and sounds that follow every single Asian show these days! It’s hilarious, at least to me

I am in love with stars. I have always been and for the longest time I wanted to have a nice telescope and be able to stargaze all night long. It turns out that good telescopes are in range of $400-800 USD. This is just too much for me to spend at the moment; just being realistic regardless the huge love for the stars - I don’t think I’ll use it THAT much! But there is hope!
After reading some reviews on-line, I realized that getting astronomical binoculars is a better way to go. They are awesome, offering about 25x zoom (which is fine), those telescopes form grocery stores may say they are 650x but they are not. Even the better telescopes out there are around 125x (and they cost a lot of money!).
So, the wait is over. I will kill 2 flies with 1 shot: I will have a really cool binoculars for stargazing - and just ridiculously gigantic binoculars for terrestrial zooming.
I am also a sucker for awesome looking aluminum cases for gadgets and this "little" baby comes in one!
Ebay auction does not end for couple of days but I think I’ll win it. Something’s telling me I must! Once I do win it - I will update the post and tell you exactly the brand of the binoculars and the winning price. Retail price for it is around $350! I do not want to post the name and links now since you may steal it from me, haha. No hard feelings!

Vlade just got his blog up and running and he managed to crash one of my shared servers with the visits he got
He wrote a great article about the upcoming games titled: PC Games We Just Can’t Wait For. Great review with description, trailers, photos, etc. All you need pretty much.
It seems Digg users thought it was cool too; since couple of minutes ago (since I got the server back on line), he’s is featured on the Front Page!
Congrats Mate!
Now - a note about Digg: With great power comes great responsibility! Most of people’s sites these days, unless they are hosted on Blogger or some huge servers with "unlimited" resources are NOT made for Digg! When a story becomes popular thousands of hits can come through in a very short period of time. Couple of times it happened to me to loose over 50GB of bandwidth in just a matter of minutes! Thank God I limit my own site’s bandwidth
Digg: Since you already have big-ass servers and a lot of resources, and are making a lot of money thanks to all of us, how about integrating some kind of Mirroring, so as soon as the post becomes Popular - you offload people’s servers and redirect to an internal mirror? Heck, if you’d even make it just a random call with clicks being randomly distributed to mirror or to the original location - it’d still save a lot of trouble for a lot of people. Just a thought… Maybe Kevin gets to read it and do something!

Couple of weeks ago I ran out of wired Gigabit ports but my 4port D-Link DIR-655 Router. The next smart move was to get some nice Gigabit Switch.
Why Switch and not Router? Simple - I already have a router and most come with only 4 ports, and switches are a lot faster than hubs when it comes to transferring a lot of data between a lot of computers - something I do on daily basis.
I looked around for a while and the one I liked a lot is the D-Link DGS-2208 with 8 100/1000Mbit ports. Nice thing - all of the ports are gigabit ports which is what I wanted. If you are looking for a switch - D-Link does a great job! It’s super fast, simple to install, and it does not get too hot. It’s hot - but within limits.
I love the indicator lights which is usually a feature of more expensive switches. Besides the activity they also show the speed on which they are operating - green for gigabit connection and orange for less than that
They say this is a 10/20/100/1000/2000Mbps but since my Network Cards only go up to 1Gbit/s - I can’t test if this really is a 2Gbit/s switch. Price: $40 USD!

I am still amazed that not many people know about NewEgg.com. Sure it’s a funny name, and you would never associate it with a Computer/Electronics store - but man - do they have good prices!
In the past few years 9 out of 10 computer related items I’ve bought on New Egg. It is THE best place to find things, find reviews, get the BEST deal AND the fastest shipping available (most of the times free or $3-4 bucks!). They are FAST!
So, now that you know about it - make sure to check it out. NewEgg.com!
Also, if you need to find stuff cheap, before you get it on Amazon.com - check out MySimon.com. This is the first place I go to when I look for a good deal. Most of the times it lands me on NewEgg, but still - it’s a great place to start every on-line shopping spree no matter what the item is.
P.S.-> I am in no way affiliated with them: This is purely my opinion and, as you will soon realize, a great advice
Cheers!
